in 1996, which led to their prolific collaboration not only
including rest of the series but also movies such as CURSED, RED
EYE, MY SOUL TO TAKE as well as Craven-produced DRACULA 2000. You

powerful listen that takes Agent 47 to a whole new level of
intensity. Art design is by Dan Goldwasser.

2015: April 19: TRUE
STORY samples and clips TRUE STORY was finally released earlier this
week and you can also listen to six samples from the original score
on the Marco Beltrami's official website . The
score was praised in review by
Variety published after the film screened during Sundance
Film Festival earlier this year: "It’s an
assured, impressive first effort, given added heft from Marco
Beltrami’s near-constant yet non-invasive score — the sort of
elegant, slightly melancholy accompaniment most often associated
with Carter Burwell, beautifully rendered in pianos and strings. If
anything, the music invites a depth of introspection upon which the
screenplay can’t quite deliver." You can also watch a
short behind the scenes and a two short clips from the
film, which also include a bit of the score.

14: INTRADA announces RED EYE Catch a
flight to terror with premiere release of exciting Marco Beltrami
soundtrack from Wes Craven air travel thriller! Rachel McAdams is
the passenger, Cillian Murphy is her seatmate, terror is the name of
the game. Beltrami sets both mood and pulse from the outset with
lean, suspenseful ideas for strings and French horn over steady
rhythm in percussion & keyboards, with low brass outbursts
slashing through all. As the suspense increases, so do the above
musical devices, culminating in aggressive, dynamic action music for
the entire orchestra. Interestingly, Beltrami relies heavily on
French horn, bass trombone to bring intensity to his score but omits
trumpet. Resulting action sequences are grim, darker-edged,
powerful! Crisp recording, dynamic performances create vibrant
audio, lengthy cues create coherency. Another exciting asset:
generous maxed-out CD playing time. Film itself is scored nearly
wall-to-wall with numerous cues playing front and center. All of
them (plus two "extras") are presented in stereo from pristine
condition digital scoring session mixes courtesy Paramount Pictures.

2015: February 11: Updated
list of upcoming projects After a while, it's time for another recap of
the upcoming films featuring music by Marco Beltrami. The composer
is currently busy working on the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR, which is
being co-scored by Philip Glass. Here is a little quote about their
collaboration: “We’re sending sketches back
and forth right now. Composing is pretty much a solitary business.
Buck and I are unusual. We’ve been working together for 17 years.
It’s sort of unique. Collaborating with somebody, sharing ideas,
takes some time to get up to speed. One of the things I
like is, as you work, you figure out there’s another way to approach
it. It’s how you grow and learn.” The film's first trailer was
released and added to the January 6th post below. Here is the list of upcoming scores and their
US release dates, which will be hopefully accompanied by soundtrack
albums - at least in most cases:
-
THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2: ANGEL OF DEATH - released on January
2nd (soundtrack on Varese Sarabande) -
SEVENTH SON - released on February 5th (soundtrack album in the
works) - THE GUNMAN - March 20th - TRUE STORY - April 10th (limited) - FANTASTIC FOUR - August 2nd - THE HITMAN: AGENT 47 - August 28th - NO ESCAPE (formerly known as THE COUP) -

score was praised in review by Variety: "It’s an assured, impressive first effort,
given added heft from Marco Beltrami’s near-constant yet
non-invasive score — the sort of elegant, slightly melancholy
accompaniment most often associated with Carter Burwell, beautifully
rendered in pianos and strings. If anything, the music invites a
