| Synopsis: Two years after the
events of Scream, Sidney Prescott and Randy are attending
Windsor college. They are trying to get on with their
lives...Until a new Ghostface killing spree begins. With the
help of Dewey and Gale, Sidney must find out who's behind the
murders. As the body count goes up, the list of suspects goes
down.

A NOTE FROM THE
COMPOSER |

In this case it was very difficult. Maybe this
was for a variety of reasons. The first one did so well and it
seemed like there was a lot of pressure on everybody to do something
similar. I found that there was a much more conservative approach to
the music this time. The freshness and originality that I brought to
Scream itself, which made the score so great in that, kind of
stiffed my here because they wanted me to take very conservative
approaches to scenes. Like following very closely the temp tracking,
which I didn't do in Scream. They had test screenings and somebody
in the audience when asked what they thought about the movie said "I
guess I like the music". They took that very seriously and I was
little bit tied. I did what I wanted in the score, but I felt a
little bit constrained. The cues that came out really well are the
ones that I never auditioned for anybody because I didn't want them
to say no to me. It was tough like that. Wes was really good about
listening to what I had and understanding it, but there was a whole
committee of people, it didn't seem like it was just Wes I was
answering to. |
